CheeseWine is run by Simon Taylor. His passion for quality ingredients started at a young age and culminated in his employment at La Fromagerie in London, one of the world's finest delicatessens. At La Fromagerie, Simon became particularly interested in the high quality cheese and wine, sourced directly from producers. His knowledge and love of this area has developed during trips to the Alsace, the Loire, Sicily and most recently South Africa.
The next step was to set up CheeseWine to promote the commonly misunderstood area of cheese and wine matching. He has also explored combinations of whisky and beer with cheese. Simon regularly gives tutored tastings to explain why certain cheese and wine matches work. He also recommends how to build a cheese plate by area, wine or cheese style.
Simon is keen to promote quality cheese and wine from all over the world, but he has a particular passion for local and English varieties.
